Had very good home cooked food. However the service was very, very slow.

The band on Friday night is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!

The place seems to be on the downhill with a decor that's created from restaurant cast offs of the 80's & 90's. Pastel colours, beverage bar focal, karaoke, portable divider screen.
Large menu but inconsistent product and presentation. Three times we've had their nachos plus a side of fries. Both have arrived nearly burnt once. Guacamole was nice the first time, but was a sickening mayo blend the second and something entirely else the third. We're looking something better in the neighbourhood and won't be back.

EXCELLENT RESTAURANT & PUB/BUFFET GRUB! The lunch buffet is fantastic - simple but great tasting homestyle cooking. The burgers are amazing, with piles of thick-cut fries t'boot! And the fish and chips are mountainous. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves to eat in a laid back, friendly atmosphere. Myself and others who frequent the 'Pais' would also kindly ask that those of you who like to eccentrically sip their macchiatos and nibble daintily on pastries please remain the the yuppy-ville coffee shop from whence ye came. Long live the Pais!!

I think the staff is working hard to turn things around. The female server I have had 3 times now is very nice and tries hard to be attentive but I think a good manager would help this place a lot. I have had 3 meals and the roast beef dinner was excellent and a good portion. The halibut burger was good but the piece of fish was too small and you mostly ate the bun. The kalmari was good but not hot. The songwriters on Thursday night are great and very talented and this is why I go there. It would be great if the food and service was better and hopefully the owner reads these reviews

The Paisley's food looks good from the menu, but sucks when you get it. I wouln't recommend this to anyone who is looking for a nice atmosphere and good tasing foods.

I know what to look for in a restaurant because I've been cooking in this city for a long time, but the Paisley was inexcusable in every way. Everything had been microwaved, the buffet food looked way less than appetizing, the place was a filthy mess, and so was my waiter (who I think was the same smelly hippy that Fol said above). Esquimalt is a nice place, and this place is a giant pussing sore on this place. This is my home! Don't poison me! If any of my friends go there I will slap them in the face!

The bland food parallels the unpleasant waitstaff and the unsettling conditions of restaurant cleanliness. I won't be recommending this restaurant to anyone (except maybe a health inspector.)

Certainly not a fancy shmancy first class restaurant. But a wonderful place to hang out with friends.

My visit to The Paisley Restaurant was a less than enjoyable one.A dirty, rude smelly hippy waiter with the stack of menus stuck down the back of his pants was offending almost every one of my senses. Those senses that werent appalled by the fithy tables or the slippery floor or the smelly hippy got attacked by the revolting food that was served along with unclean cutlery. Some of what was served had clearly been re-heated. I will not be going back, nor will I be suggesting dining there to anyone.
